BIOGRAPHY
Michael A. Reardon
Michael A. Reardon was born in Rye on May 8, 1897, son of John and Mary Lewis Reardon. He had three brothers William, Thomas and John and three sisters Mary, Elizabeth and Catherine. Michael and his siblings grew up in Mamaroneck.
He married Julia Florence Burke on September 24, 1928, in New York City, New York. They had two children during their marriage.
In Rye his family lived at
131 Purchase Street
and were members of the Church of the Resurrection.
Michael served as an officer in the U.S. Army during World War II. He served in both World Wars and retired from the Army as a lieutenant colonel.
Michael was a consultant with the Burns International Detective Agency in New York City. He also was a retired worker with the Federal Internal Revenue Service.
Michael “Nick” Augustus Reardon died on November 12, 1978, at his sister's home in Greencove Springs, Fla., when he was 81 years old.
His wife, Julia Burke Reardon, died on May 9. 1971. He was survived by two daughters, Betty Ann Reardon of New York and Mrs. Arthur Menadier, Jr. of Irving, Calif, and six grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial
was held at the Church of the Resurrection interment was in St. Mary's Cemetery.
